Meenmutty falls - Wayanad, Kerala
An interesting 2 Km jungle trek off the main Ooty road, Meenmutty is the largest and most spectacular waterfall in Wayanad. A unique feature is that water drops about 300 metres over three stages.
This fall is quiet a hot favourite with the localities and they keep on singing paeans of its beauty. A 2 km trek is required to be undertaken to reach this fall though it is less demanding and exhausting. The water here falls from a great height of 1000 m and exhibits a triple decker effect. The fall lies 29 Km from Kalpetta and 12 Km from Meppady. Trekking equipment are available at Tourist Information Centre, Kalpetta.
A three step water fall of more than 200m in height with a fantastic scenery provides for white water rafting, swimming, bathing, etc., The tree top huts at Soochipara will give unique view of the valleys of Western Ghats. It is also an ideal place for rock climbing.
